Vetiver acetate is an interesting molecule, since it is a mixture of the natural and the synthetic. It is derived from a specific portion of vetiver oil, distilled from the roots of a grass originally from India, which is then modified with acetic acid to soften the typical bitter and coriaceous properties of the root.
